Our buying policy
At the Mill Race we use local produce and seasonal vegetables wherever possible to ensure all produce is the freshest on offer.
Our careful buying policies ensure that the produce is of the highest quality. All meat is supplied by local farms. We ensure that we have the best produce by identifying the conditions in which the animal has been reared on local farms.
The Fish buying policy has been drawn up in conjunction with recent publications of the Marine Conservation Society to minimise environmental concerns. Wherever possible, fish is supplied from non-depleted stocks and from companies using sustainable fishing methods.
All our tea, coffee and sugar is purchased from companies that operate under fair trade practices.
